My Thoughts

Ending 2016 on a travel happy note!

Last year was a mix of emotions and I learned a great deal about a lot of things. Things about moving, apartment hunting, location search, buying furniture, arranging a home etc etc. We were in Cincinnati for the first few months and moved to Chicago by the end of July.

The husband finally completed his MS in Business Analytics and got a job in the Chi city! That was the high point of last year especially since we were moving to a bigger city.

Chicago brings me so much happiness and has made me realize that I am a city girl! I love to vacation in remote areas but prefer a big city to live.ย

To celebrate and catch-up on all the travel that we couldn’t manage in 2015, we went on a 10-day road trip in December to the West Coast. We flew to Vegas and then drove on some amazing roads spanning across Nevada, California, and Arizona!

Pacific Coast Highway was a bliss!

We clocked approximately 2,000 miles over these last few days, starting from Las Vegas. Unfortunately, after Grand Canyon, Google didn’t allow me to add more stops. From the Canyon, we stopped at Hoover’s Dam and then ended our journey at the sin city.

That’s the route we followed.

Stay tuned for more details on this amazing journey. More posts to follow!

And, a very happy new year to all the lovely people out there! Keep traveling!

  1. Oh I’m so happy for you that you have moved to Chicago! Totally understand what you mean – I come from a small town but have been living in Kuala Lumpur city for 18 years now, don’t think I can survive staying in a town now ๐Ÿ™‚ You’re right, it’s great to get away to a remote place for a break but living in the city is vibrant! All the best for 2017, looking forward to see your pics on Insta ๐Ÿ™‚ Cheers.

I’ve realized I’m a city girl too. I fail to function without the cacophony & the bustle that city life brings ๐Ÿ™‚ Also I love those hydrangeas:) And, I’ve never tried the Deep dish pizza!! I really want to!

    1. Thanks for reading Div ๐Ÿ™‚

Once I lived in Cincinnati I realized how much I need the hustle/bustle of a city! Hydrangeas are my current favorite, after Gerberas of course.
And, you must try the Deep Dish at Lou Malnati’s here, they have a great vegetarian option. Visit soon!
Would love to know more about your West Coast trip. Wishing you too a lot of happiness and traveling in 2017!
